A 400 year old rescued and restored garden on the very edge of the city. We take the 21st century traveller back to the early 18th century countryside. A place of beauty, to breathe deeply, escape and relax. Somewhere to explore and chase, hide and dream.
This 10-acre grade II listed garden transports you back to Dutch and French influenced formal Gardens of the late 17th and early 18th century. It is a very rare survival example of that style and exists in a charming conservation area setting of Castle Bromwich at the very northerly tip of the borough.
As well as relaxing walks the Gardens’ holly maze, vegetable gardens and heritage orchards are a delight for people of all ages. Our ‘Unplug and Play’ activities and woodland areas encourage young people and their grown-ups to experience their first safe encounters with the outdoors and nature.
Through our seasonal programme of cultural and leisure events and activities visitors can experience everything from Shakespeare on the Lawns, 1940s nostalgia weekends to Picnics under the Blossoms and Mystery Mutts the ultimate Escape Room experience for dogs and their humans.
Just a 20 minute bus or taxi ride from the International airport, and half an hour from Solihull town it is a fine way to spend an afternoon in the region.
We’re on the Greenways, Cole Valley and other cycle routes – stop off at our café on your way round.
